Benitez dismisses exit talk

Rafa Benitez says no more players will be sold by the club in this transfer window, with the Liverpool manager stating ‘œwe can’t afford to lose anyone else’.

The two major depatures of the summer from Anfield were Sami Hyypia, who left to Bayer Leverkusen on a free transfer, and Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid for £30million.

In recent days both striker Andriy Voronin and winger Albert Riera have been linked with moves to Hertha Berlin and Barcelona respectively.

But Benitez says his players are going nowhere.

“Nobody will be sold because we need all our players,” he said. “We can’t afford to lose anyone else. The Premier League is very difficult and we have to keep everyone we have at the moment.”
