Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez believes the injury sustained to Albert Riera in this evening’s 2-0 victory over FC Lyn in Norway is nothing to worry about.
Riera came on as a half-time substitute, but was taken off during the second half looking in pain at his ankle.
But Benitez revealed that the Spanish winger should be okay after some rest.
“He twisted his ankle, but I don’t think it is serious,” he told the club’s official web site. “We had to take him off, but it is always better to be careful with these things.”
Riera is expected to sit out this Saturday’s final pre-season friendly at home to Atletico Madrid.
