Youngster extends contract at Liverpool

Liverpool’s highly rated young Spanish striker Daniel Pacheco has signed a new three year deal with the club to extend his stay at Anfield until at least 2012.

18-year-old Pacheco has been involved in pre-season for the Reds, although he is yet to make his first team debut. He follows fellow youngsters Jay Spearing and Stephen Darby in signing new deals this summer.

Pacheco arrived at Anfield in 2007 from Barcelona, read more about him in our Kop Star feature here.

Nathan Eccleston, who scored for a Liverpool X1 tonight in a 1-1 draw at Partick Thistle, is expected to follow suit and put pen to paper on a new contract with the club later this week.

Meanwhile, after a loan spell at Accrington Stanley, striker Craig Linfield has been released by the club. Good luck in the future, Craig.
