Football - Liverpool v Blackburn Rovers Barclays Premier League

Liverpool will be boosted by Thursday’s 3-1 victory in Romania and next face Blackburn Rovers back at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Blackburn though come off the back of a resounding 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Ewood Park, their second consecutive win and now sit 12th in the Premier League table.

Victory for Liverpool could see them move back into fourth place depending on other results this weekend.

Fernando Torres could start for the Reds after making his comeback from injury in Sunday’s goalless draw with Manchester City at Eastlands.

Glen Johnson is not expected to start, but could make his long awaited return from injury amongst the substitutes.

Sam Allardyce’s men held the Reds to a goalless draw in the reverse of this fixture back in December.

Liverpool romped to a 4-0 victory in this fixture towards the end of last season. Goals that day came from Torres (2), Daniel Agger and David N’gog.

Kick-off at Anfield is 3pm.
