Benitez happy at Liverpool

Rafa Benitez has told the Liverpool Echo he is happy at Liverpool and wishes to remain at the club for a long time, if possible.

The Reds boss has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, first with Juventus and more recently with Inter Milan and this weekend as manager of the United Arab Emirates.

After our disappointing campaign, the club’s worst league finish for 11 years, Benitez has been under pressure but the club’s ownership situation remains the sticking point in any decision.

Rafa said “I am very happy here in Liverpool. I have always been happy and I want to stay here for a long time – if it is possible.”

Benitez, like all Liverpool fans, is hoping the ownership situation can be resolved as soon as possible. The Echo have recently placed a front page editorial urging Tom Hicks and George Gillett to leave the club.
