Hodgson wants to keep Lee on

New Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson says he has no intention of making assistant manager Sammy Lee leave the club.

There has been much uncertainty over Lee’s position at the club, as well as several other coaching jobs, since Rafa Benitez left last month.

But Hodgson says he hopes Lee will continue his work at Anfield.

“Sammy will stay here for the foreseeable future, absolutely – as long as he wants to be here,” he said.

“I have no intention of letting him go and if he wants to stay with us he is more than welcome.

“I haven’t made decisions on any other positions yet.”
