Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has given some positive information on Fernando Torres’ position with the club.
The new Reds manager says he has spoken to the Spanish striker, who will return to training next week and has said that he is looking forward to the new season.
Torres has been the subject of increasing speculation linking him with a big money move to the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea in recent weeks, but this news may soften that speculation somewhat.
“Fernando is having a holiday, a well-earned holiday, it’s his first for three years,” said Hodgson.
“I spoke to him recently and he told us he is looking forward to getting back on Monday and he is looking forward to next season.”
