Philipp Degen looks set to join German side Vfb Stuttgart on loan for the 2010/11 season.
The Swiss right-back was told by new Reds boss Roy Hodgson that he was free to find a new club after failing to make an impact at Liverpool since joining two years ago.
The 27-year-old moved to Merseyside from the Bundesliga – formerly playing for Borussia Dortmund.
Degen is expected to complete the loan switch in the next few days.
