Travel Guide: FC Utrecht v Liverpool

FC Utrecht v Liverpool – Travel Information

On September 30th, Liverpool face Utrecht away in the Europa League group stage, and luckily it is nowhere near as hard to get to as Trabzon, so we have compiled the following on how to get there; including details of flights and train times.

Getting a flight from Liverpool to Amsterdam seems the simple solution; however EasyJet have realised everyone is trying to book cheap flights on the dates around the match and raised the cost of their flights as a result, so flying from Manchester with KLM is a better option.

Trains from the centre of Amsterdam to Utrecht only take half an hour, and run all day so getting there is fairly easy.

For Reds travelling from London, there are a couple of flights from Luton, Gatwick and Stanstead listed below.

If you want to spend the day in Amsterdam instead of Utrecht, there are four trains per hour heading to Utrecht, so just make sure you’re at Amsterdam Central with plenty of time spare to avoid missing the match.

The main place to get a few drinks in is Oudegracht (the canal that runs through the centre of Utrecht); there are plenty of pubs and bars, such as Ledig Erf which has it’s own spacious outdoor seating area, or Stadskasteel Oudaen who create local beers in their own brewery. Kafé België has nearly 200 different beers available, or if you’re after a sports bar there’s Mick Connel’s Irish bar.

You’re probably already aware, but here is a brief conversion from GBP to Euros:

£5 – €6
£10 – €12
£20 – €24
£50 – €60
