Spanish youngster Dani Pacheco says he has been inspired by new Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish to make a renewed push for first team football.
Dalglish watched as Pacheco scored a scorcher of a goal in Liverpool Reserves 2-1 victory over Sunderland Reserves at the Academy on Tuesday.
Pacheco has been on the verge of the first team for some time now, but his inexperience was a factor in former boss Roy Hodgson not giving him much action.
“For me Kenny Dalglish is the main man here, he is someone we all look up to and everyone respects him a lot,” he told the club’s official web site.
“I can keep working hard every day at Melwood in training and when the chance comes I have to take it.
“I hope I can challenge for a place and it’s a new challenge for all of us, especially the young players because Kenny knows every player in the Academy.”
