Second Adam bid turned down

Liverpool have had a second bid for Blackpool captain Charlie Adam turned down, it has emerged this morning.

The Liverpool Echo report that the Reds made an “improved offer” for the midfielder from the £4million bid rejected last week by Ian Holloway.

Following Liverpool’s initial approach for Adam, the 25-year-old Scot handed in a transfer request, though Holloway is keen to hold onto his star player as Blackpool fight against relegation.

Blackpool value Adam as much higher than Liverpool’s bids, and are thought to be open to listening to offers only above £10million.

The Reds are also still chasing the signature of Ajax striker Luis Suarez after seeing a €19million bid turned down last night.

The transfer window closes at midnight on Monday, 31st January.
