Kuyt unconcerned by goals leak

Dirk Kuyt says he is confident Liverpool will come out for the start of the new campaign confident and ready, despite some questionable pre-season performances.

The Reds have conceded three goals in each of their five pre-season friendlies this summer, including Monday night’s 3-3 draw with Valerenga in Oslo.

Buyt Kuyt says the team will work together to fix the problem ahead of the opening game of the season at home to Sunderland on August 13th.

Ahead of Saturday’s frienly against Valencia at Anfield, Kuyt said, “We are letting in too many goals but the point is we have to defend like a team.

“That starts from the front and we need to improve.

“We know we have the ability and we just need to train really hard.

“We have another practice game on Saturday to put things right. I’m sure if we do that a little bit better in the next game then we will be ready for Sunderland.”

“I’m not concerned as it’s still pre-season. If we beat Sunderland in our first game then it’s been a good pre-season for us.”
