Liverpool confirm North America tour

Liverpool have confirmed they are to play at Boston’s Fenway Park stadium as part of a North America tour this summer.

Fenway Park: The historic home of baseball’s Red Sox

As reported back in January, the Reds will face Italian side AS Roma on July 25th.

The match will be part of the celebrations for Fenway’s 100th anniversary.

Roma’s club president, Thomas DiBenedetto, is part of the FSG ownership group who also own Liverpool.

Liverpool will be adding more date(s) to their North American tour, with New York, Baltimore and Toronto the possibilities. Boston will serve as the club’s base throughout the tour and the team will train at Harvard University.

Liverpool’s stay in Boston will also feature the unveiling of their new kit, to be manufactured by Michigan based Warrior Sports.

“Our goal is to create an unforgettable experience for our North American fans while building a lasting legacy for Liverpool here in the States,” chairman Tom Werner said.

The last time Liverpool toured the US, in 2004, they played Roma at Giants Stadium in New Jersey.
