Selection dilemmas for Dalglish ahead of FA Cup Semi

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish faces a number of selection choices ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final with Everton at Wembley (12:30pm kick off).

We can assume that captain Steven Gerrard, top-scorer Luis Suarez and left-back Jose Enrique will all return after missing the midweek match with Blackburn.

Daniel Agger is also expected to return from injury after two sub appearances against Villa and Blackburn. And Glen Johnson is likely to replace Jon Flanagan at right-back.

In goal, Dalglish must decide between Brad Jones, or throw a surprise by bringing in recalled Peter Gulacsi. Jones is expected to get the nod.

Steven Gerrard will start in midfield, with Jay Spearing expected to come back in to add some solidity to the midfield. While Jonjo Shelvey has done more than enough to keep his place after some impressive recent displays. Jordan Henderson is the other in contention.

As ever, one of the key questions will be whether Andy Carroll starts. He could partner Suarez up front – having enjoyed success against Everton already this season and the confidence boosting last minute winner at Blackburn.

Out wide, Stewart Downing will return to the side, he enjoyed his best game for Liverpool last time out at Wembley, picking up the man of the match award in the Carling Cup Final.

It’s unlikely Craig Bellamy will keep his place, Dirk Kuyt could take his place, while Maxi Rodriguez can also stake a claim after two goals in midweek.

Possible LFC XI: Jones; Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique; Spearing, Gerrard, Henderson; Downing, Carroll, Suarez.
