As the storm starts to calm over who will manage Liverpool next season, with Brendan Rodgers set to be unveiled at Anfield on Friday, all eyes turn to what could be a fascinating summer for Liverpool in the transfer market.
Metro report that the Reds are now to enter a race to sign Barcelona playmaker Ibrahim Afellay.
Arsenal and Tottenham are also said to be interested in the Dutch international, who has struggled to get into Barcelona‘s first team for the Catalan giants since signings last January.
He has missed the second half of the 2011/12 season with a knee ligament problem.
The 26-year-old however is expected to start for Holland during Euro 2012, which begins next Friday.
Milos Krasic has also been linked with a move to the Premier League lately, with the Reds said to be keeping tabs on the 27-year-old winger.
Juventus are thought to be keen on cashing in on Krasic, who has 46 caps for Serbia and has had mixed reaction in his two years in Serie A.
And finally, whilst the Reds didn’t agree to sign Wigan boss Roberto Martinez as their manager, his namesake Jackson Martinez could well be making his way to Merseyside this summer.
The Jaguares De Chiapas striker has also been linked to a move to Porto after an impressive season for his club.
Expect the rumour mill to be back in full swing next week.
