Liverpool will play Belarus’ FC Gomel in the Europa League third qualifying round, it was confirmed today.

FC Gomel beat FK Renova of Macedonia 2-1 on aggregate to seal their place in the tie against the Reds.

Gomel had turned the tie around after losing the first leg 1-0 last week, but their 2-0 victory earlier today ensures they progress in the competition.

Gomel vs Liverpool in Belarus on August 2nd will be Brendan Rodgers’ first competitive game in charge for the Reds, with the return game on August 9th at Anfield.
