Hearts vs LFC Starting Line-up: Sterling gets nod; Spearing/Adam farewell

Youngster Raheem Sterling is the eye-catching decision in Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool team to face Hearts in the Europa League preliminary round at Tynecastle tonight.

The Reds are two games away from the group stages of the Europa League and will be hoping to make a good start to this tie this evening, before the second leg at Anfield next week.

Daniel Agger plays in central defence, despite being suspended domestically, whilst Jack Robinson and Martin Kelly start in defence with Jamie Carragher completing the back line.

Jay Spearing and Charlie Adam, much speculated with moves away from the club in the final week of the summer transfer window, both start in midfield – as does Jordan Henderson and Jonjo Shelvey.

Summer signing Fabio Borini plays in attack, supported by Sterling.

Liverpool: Reina, Robinson, Carragher, Agger, Kelly, Henderson, Spearing, Adam, Shelvey, Sterling, Borini.

Subs: Jones, Coates, Downing, Lucas, Allen, Flanagan, Morgan.

Hearts vs Liverpool gets underway at 7.45pm at Tynecastle and it’s live on ITV 4 in the UK.
