Video: Liverpool frustrated by ruthless Stoke

Liverpool 0-0 Stoke City
Sunday, 8th October 2012
Premier League
Anfield

Match Summary
Liverpool were held to a goalless draw by an aggressive Stoke side at Anfield on Sunday afternoon to continue Liverpool’s poor form at home this season.

The Reds are yet to win at Anfield in the league under Brendan Rodgers, and left this game victim to some severe foul play by the visitors and again, some questionable refereeing decisions.

Nevertheless, Liverpool never got into their stride in a very broken game.

Luis Suarez went close when he shuffled through the Stoke defence on a tricky run from the half way line, but his end product was lacking as it went wide of the Kop goal.

Pepe Reina was rarely troubled and the game had two main controversial incidents – Robert Huth appearing to stamp on Suarez’s chest early on, and later, Suarez going down in the box in the most cynical of dives.

Next up for Liverpool is Reading at home after the international break with a victory much needed as Rodgers’ side find themselves down in 14th place after 7 games.
