Newcastle Utd midfielder Yohan Cabye has reccomended to Liverpool’s Joe Cole that he leave Anfield for French side Lille.
Cole spent last season on loan at the Ligue 1 club, but did not secure a permanent move, therefore returning to Merseyside on his £100,000 a week contract.
The former Chelsea midfielder has failed to impress new boss Brendan Rodgers, making a brief 45 minute appearance in last week’s League Cup exit at home to Swansea City.
“It is not easy for him because he is not playing much”, Cabaye told L’Equipe.
“It worked out well for him at Lille. Maybe it would be a good idea for him to return there.”
Maybe he’s right.
Cole is contacted at Liverpool until 2014.
