Ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash between the two sides, we take a look back on history that will never be forgotten. Liverpool vs Newcastle Utd is a fixture that evokes memories of two incredible encounters in the mid-nineties at Anfield.
Yesterday we brought you the first – 3rd April 1996 – when Roy Evans’ Reds snatched a last gasp victory from the hands of Kevin Keegan’s Magpies thanks to an injury time winner from Stan Collymore.
Today we bring you the second encounter when history repeated itself when Liverpool again, this time through Robbie Fowler, snatched victory right at the death after letting a 3-0 lead slip from their grasp against Kenny Dalglish‘s Newcastle the following season.
