Who Liverpool can draw in Europa League

The draw for the knockout stages of the Europa League takes place in Switzerland on Friday, with Liverpool finding out who their opponents in the last 32 will be.

europaLiverpool are seeded in pot one – which is made up of the 12 group winners plus the four best performing Champions League sides. Therefore, Liverpool will have the benefit of the second leg in the first knock-out stage being at home.

Despite being seeded, the Reds could still face some strong opposition – such as Spanish side Atletico Madrid, Italian giants Inter Milan and Napoli. Other exciting ties could include Ajax Amsterdam – where the Final will be held next May – or a trip to Germany to face old friends Borussia Monchengladbach.

Less favoured would be trips to the likes of Kiev and St. Petersburg.
