Fabio Borini back in training for Liverpool

While Daniel Sturridge arrived at Liverpool last week to add some much needed attacking options to Brendan Rodgers’ squad, another forward was returning after injury lay-off.

Fabio Borini, signed from Roma in the summer, has been out with a broken foot since October – suffered on international duty with Italy.

He returned to Liverpool over Christmas and has began training individually to regain his fitness, the video below was taken at Melwood on Friday, showing Borini working with a fitness coach.

Last week manager Brendan Rodgers told reports at a press conference ahead of the Mansfield match that having Borini back and signing Sturridge will “give us flexibility within the group”.

Borini’s return from injury means Liverpool’s only remaining injuries are to full backs Martin Kelly and Jose Enrique. Kelly has been ruled out for most of the season, while Enrique faces another month on the sidelines.
