Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was in awe at the wonder of Luis Suarez and was full of praise also for his other players as Liverpool kicked off 2013 with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Sunderland at Anfield.
First half goals from Raheem Sterling and Suarez had given the Reds a two-goal lead at half-time, before Suarez added a third, finishing neatly from a fine Steven Gerrard long-range through-ball shortly into the second half.
Liverpool now turn their attentions to Mansfield away in the FA Cup this Sunday, before a mouthwatering Premier League clash at Manchester Utd the following week.
