Spanish forward Luis Alberto has arrived on Merseyside to undergo a medical ahead of completing a £6.8million plus add-ons switch from Sevilla.
The 20-year-old touched down at John Lennon Airport on Thursday night and will agree personal terms on what is expected to be a four year deal with Liverpool today.
“I am excited to go to a club like Liverpool, a new culture, a new language, I have to adapt quickly though,’ Alberto is quoted in today’s Metro as saying.
“There are many Spaniards in England doing quite well. Seeing them succeed excites me.
“I am really looking forward to this great step.”
Alberto could even be a confirmed Liverpool player, subject to documentation, by the end of the day and will be Brendan Rodgers’ third signing of the summer.
Manchester City defender Kolo Toure and Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas will complete their moves to Anfield at the beginning of July.
