Premier League Fixtures: Liverpool start against Stoke

The Premier League fixtures have been released today and Liverpool will kick-off the season at home to Stoke City.

They will follow that up with a trip to Villa Park for the first away game a week later. The third match of the season sees Man United the visitors to Anfield. David Moyes’ side face Chelsea and Man City too in their opening five fixtures, similar to the start Brendan Rodgers had as Liverpool manager last season.

Brendan Rodgers’ side will finish the season at home to Newcastle United, while the last away game is at Crystal Palace.

Merseyside Derbies take place on November 23rd (away) and January 28th (home).

The festive period looks tough; with trips to Man City (boxing day) and Chelsea (28th). Those are sandwiched by home matches against two promoted sides in Cardiff and Hull City (new year’s day).

Of course, all exact dates are only provisional until TV broadcasters announce their live fixtures.

Last year the Reds kicked off their campaign with a dismal 3-0 defeat at West Brom and will be looking for a better start than they endured in Brendan Rodgers opening fixtures when they were handed Man City, Arsenal and Man United in their three opening home games.

Before the season begins, Rodgers side will travel to Asia, Australia, Norway and Ireland as part of their pre-season campaign. For all the fixtures and dates, click here.
