Media and Liverpool fans react to latest developments in Raheem Sterling saga

Oh dear, another day another PR disaster for Raheem Sterling and his agent.

Much like the summer of 2013 when each night saw a new twist in the Luis Suarez saga – a saga that eventually saw the player remain at the club after being forced to train alone and with Liverpool rejecting an infamous 40-million-plus-a-pound bid from Arsenal – each day now brings with it more controversy from Team Sterling.

Sterling’s agent Aidy Ward has denied quotes that emerged earlier on Thursday, with the London Evening Standard quoted him saying that Sterling would not sign a new deal even if he were offered “£900,000 per week”.

Ward’s denial of the reported quotes hasn’t stopped social media being awash with comments about the agent and his supposed words.

Here’s how media and fans have reacted to the developments today.

While Liverpool fans have become accustomed to Sterling being left open mouthed at missing open goals this season, they’re now becoming accustomed to being left aghast at the handling of the situation.
