Leicester City join clubs interested in Liverpool forward Rickie Lambert

Rickie Lambert is set to leave Liverpool this summer and Leicester City are the latest club to be linked with the striker.

Lambert, who signed for his boyhood club last summer from Southampton, is also attracting interest from Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion.

Reports last week suggested West Brom were favourites for the England international, who was linked with Bournemouth earlier in the summer too.

It’s now reported that Leicester have expressed interest in the 33-year-old.

Lambert was signed for £4.5 million but Liverpool are unlikely to recoup that much.

Having signed Christian Benteke and Danny Ings this summer, plus the arrival of Divock Origi, Liverpool’s forward options have been overhauled this summer.

Lambert is free to find a new club, along with fellow forwards Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini.

Borini is expected to make a move back to Serie A, but shifting Balotelli looks set to prove more difficult.
