The 18-year-old scored his first senior goal for Liverpool during Sunday’s pre-season victory over Swindon Town at the County Ground.
Ojo’s shot spilled through the hands of Swindon goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux, who is on a trial from Liverpool U21s, to provide a late winner in the Reds’ final friendly of the summer.
After the game Ojo declared it a “dream come true” to break his first-team scoring duck.
Ojo’s opportunities at Anfield would be otherwise be limited, with fierce competition for places following a busy summer of spending.
The England Under-18 international spent the second half of last season on loan at Wigan Athletic.
Earlier this summer, This Is Anfield’s Henry Jackson recommended that Ojo would be amongst the young players at Liverpool who would benefit from a loan move this season.
The 18-year-old forward is blessed with great natural ability and pace, much like Raheem Sterling, and is seen a potential future star at Anfield.
It would both toughen him up and guarantee him more playing time.
Another year in the hustle and bustle of the Championship will definitely serve him well, much in the way Ibe thrived at Derby County during the first half of 2014/15.
