Goals from Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge gave the Reds the three points, despite Klopp making 10 changes to the side that started against Dortmund – with three players getting their first league starts for the club.
Klopp was asked about Sturridge’s performance, plus his rotated his side.
“Sometimes rotation is for resting players for other tournaments. You cannot rest for a tournament, you [use your] fit players,” explained Klopp.
“The exciting thing is to give the young boys the chance to take part in their first league game [Danny Ward, Brad Smith and Connor Randall], and their second league game [Sheyi Ojo and Kevin Stewart].”
“Nobody is undroppable. I decide if we play with one, two, three or four strikers,” commented the manager.
