Liverpool have agreed a record fee to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita next summer, news which has been met with delight by Reds supporters.
One of the longest-running transfer sagas in recent Liverpool history finally has its conclusion, with Keita set to move to Anfield on July 1, 2018.
The highly-rated Guinean underwent a medical on Monday morning in Wilmslow, as the Reds acquire the signature of one of Europe’s most highly-rated midfielders.
It is a move many had written off, but Jurgen Klopp has once again played a blinder in the transfer market, with the general mood at the club very happy after Sunday’s 4-0 win over Arsenal.
Here’s how supporters have reacted to the news on social media.

Shows why you can't throw toys out of the pram until the fat lady has stopped singing. Said for ages that CL qualifier would determine bits.

Excellent news and forward planning.
Unbelievable move by Liverpool, RBL also save face by not allowing Keita to move in this window. A good deal for both parties..

The only thing that is annoying is watching Naby Keita this season tear it up whilst we have to wait.

I'm converting to the Church of Michael Edwards and the Latter Day Transfers

As many are pointing out, by the time Keita moves it might not be a club record fee. Lemar possibly changes that this week.

Fantastic signing, really well played out to appease RBL and still get him locked away, albeit not until next year.
Kept it under wraps, no leaks, met their valuation. Nicely done. Welcome Naby. You’ve got a year to figure out what trim you want at your new favorite barber.
Mood right now …#Keita #LFC pic.twitter.com/EPkiYpwbMe

Champions League group stages secured. Arsenal battered. The Reds getting stuck into the transfer market. Sound, this.

So looks like Liverpool will – eventually – have three of Africa's very best players.
(Lucky for #LFC that AFCON is moving to June).

The last 3 seasons of Naby Keita. Unique skillset for a central midfielder. Capable of doing EVERYTHING at an elite level. pic.twitter.com/c8cA6kYg0O

Signing Van Dijk now would top this week off! What a transfer window that would become!
