Naby Keita’s greatest traits revealed by RB Leipzig team-mate Marcel Halstenberg

Naby Keita is soon to be a Liverpool player and one of his current RB Leipzig team-mates has opened up on what makes the midfielder such a talent.

Marcel Halstenberg is well-placed to discuss the best attributes of the Guinean, having been the first-choice left-back since Keita arrived in 2016.

The duo were key players as RB Leipzig surprised everyone in the Bundesliga to finish in second place last season.

Now Halstenberg, capped for the first time by Germany this campaign, has told Goal.com exactly what it is which makes Keita such a threat—and why Liverpool were so keen to land him.

“You get a player with enormous quality on the pitch,” Halstenberg began.

“He can not only dribble past one, two or three players, he can even take on four or more.

“He’s very strong and confident on the ball, and with his fast movement he’s very dangerous in offence.”

Reds fans will be delighted to hear such praise for that individuality on the ball, which has been seen from the midfield man plenty of times over the past year or so.

The ability to drive forward and commit defenders will be even more important, next term with Keita in the side, after Philippe Coutinho‘s departure.

There remains some suggestion that Keita may yet end up at Anfield during the current transfer window, but other rumours are contradictory on the matter.

Either way, Keita is a player to watch once he finally rocks up at Melwood, and Halstenberg’s words can only excite Liverpool fans more as they anticipate his arrival.
