Confirmed Liverpool lineup vs. Napoli: Alisson makes 1st appearance for Reds

Jurgen Klopp has named a strong Liverpool lineup for Saturday’s pre-season friendly clash with Napoli, kicking off at 6pm (BST) at the Aviva Stadium.

The Reds arrived in Dublin for their latest warmup game after a positive five-day break in the south of France, as preparations for the new campaign continue.

Jurgen Klopp welcomed three players into the fold in Evian, with just Simon Mignolet, Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson yet to report back to training after the World Cup.

This has provided the manager with the opportunity to field a host of his key names against their Serie A adversaries, with Alisson making his debut in goal.

Nathaniel Clyne, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson form the Brazilian’s back four, with James Milner the shielding presence in midfield.

Joining the veteran in the middle of the park are Gini Wijnaldum and Naby Keita, supporting Klopp’s forward line of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

The Reds’ substitutes’ bench includes a host of youngsters, including the returning Trent Alexander-Arnold, but the likes of Pedro Chirivella, Lazar Markovic and Sheyi Ojo are missing ahead of summer moves.

Ragnar Klavan is absent due to a minor fitness issue, joining Joel Matip, Marko Grujic, Adam Lallana and Danny Ings on the short-term injury list.

Though the emphasis is on fitness and tactical work, Liverpool have won five, drawn one and lost one in pre-season so far, and will be aiming for another morale-boosting victory in Ireland.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli will serve as tough opposition, but Klopp can be confident of a solid performance, with just over a week to go until the Reds’ Premier League opener against West Ham.
