Watch Trent Alexander-Arnold’s fascinating ‘Living The Dream’ documentary

Trent Alexander-Arnold is riding on the crest of a wave and a brilliant new documentary captures what a special season he has experienced.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed one of the most meteoric rises in Liverpool history, going from relative unknown to Champions League winner in the space of two years.

A boyhood Red, Alexander-Arnold is living the dream of millions, with the sky the limit for the likeable right-back.

Such is the demand for the youngster, it is no surprise to see a documentary made about his 2018/19 campaign.

It was a 10-month period that saw him not only earn European glory in Madrid, but also record the most assists by a defender in a Premier League season (12).

The Sky Sports doc, ‘Trent Alexander-Arnold: Living The Dream’, sees the player sit down with Jamie Carragher during the latter weeks of a relentless season.

It makes for a fantastic watch, giving great insight into what Alexander-Arnold is like as a person, as well as what drives him on as a footballer.

The pair speak in his home and watch footage of Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Chelsea in April, dissecting his and the team’s performance on the day.

The West Derby-born defender’s maiden Anfield experience—the 2-1 win over Juventus in 2005—is also discussed, as is Carragher being the choice of “celebrity” when it came to accompanying him for his first contract signing.

Alexander-Arnold singles out Ashley Cole as someone who helped inspire the modern full-back—few are more deadly going forward in the world than the Liverpool favourite, adding so much quality along with Andy Robertson.

Some of the documentary is filmed straight after the incredible 4-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final second leg last month, which saw Alexander-Arnold produce his most famous moment yet in a Reds shirt.

He and Carragher return to the Kop end corner that the England international teed Divock Origi up from, cementing his place in assist legend instantly.

There is also plenty of looking to the past, including talk of Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool full debut in 2016, when he started against Tottenham in the League Cup.

Following a catchup in Marbella in the lead up to the Champions League final victory over Spurs, the footage ends fittingly.

Stood on the pitch at the Wanda Metropolitano, Carragher interviews Liverpool’s newest local hero, before he celebrates with his brothers on the greatest night of his career.

This is only the start for the gifted youngster, though, who can go on to skipper both club and country in the years that follow, becoming a legend in the process.
