Salah Scoops Another Prize
Mohamed Salah has won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for April, following a run of superb form during the Premier League and Champions League run-in.
The Egyptian scored four times last month, starting with a vital late strike at Southampton—one that caused pandemonium in the away end at St Mary’s.
Then came the stunning effort at home to Chelsea in front of the Kop, before a typically clinical double against Huddersfield at Anfield.
Salah will miss the clash with Barcelona on Tuesday with concussion, which is a major blow to Liverpool’s Champions League chances.
Barca showed their class, however, tweeting on Monday: “Games like these are for world-class players. Get well soon!”
Kent Wins Young Player Award
Ryan Kent has been rewarded for an excellent season on loan at Rangers, winning PFA Scotland’s Young Player of the Year award.
The winger has been excellent under Steven Gerrard, scoring six goals in 39 appearances and proving to be an influential member of the side.
He was also in the Team of the Year, which was made up of nine players from Rangers and Celtic.
Kent has spoken about finding a permanent club after various loan moves during his career, with a full-time switch to Rangers not out of the question.
Despite his obvious talent, his future lies away from Liverpool, where he should flourish if given regular first-team football.
Suarez’s Message to Liverpool Fans
Luis Suarez will return to Anfield on Tuesday evening, looking to deliver the fatal blow to his former team’s Champions League hopes.
The Uruguayan has posted a photo to his Instagram story with a stunning bird’s-eye view of Liverpool’s famous ground with the caption “Anfield, I am excited to see you again”:

Whether or not Reds supporters reciprocate the feeling towards Suarez remains to be seen, following plenty of gamesmanship during the first leg at the Nou Camp.
The striker is one of the most gifted players to represent Liverpool, however, and while a few boos are sure to come his way, plenty of applause is also likely.
Suarez’s photo was taken as Barcelona‘s squad arrived at John Lennon Airport on Monday.
No English Offer for Hazard
Thorgan Hazard has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months, even though nothing concrete has emerged.
The Reds weren’t the only Premier League club tipped to make a move for the Borussia Monchengladbach favourite, but sporting director Max Eberl claims staying in the Bundesliga now looks highly likely.
“Unfortunately there is no offer from England,” Eberl told Sport1.
“The German market is more realistic than the English one.”
Hazard is widely expected to join Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Insigne Rumour Put to Bed
Klopp recently said Liverpool would definitely not make a move for Lorenzo Insigne this summer—although he once denied interest in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain too!
It does appear that a potential move for the Napoli talisman is dead in the water, however, following the Italian’s latest remarks regarding his future.
“I’m waiting for the president,” Insigne told Sky Sport Italia.
“For my part there’s maximum availability. We both want to move forward together. I hope that the signing of the contract will come soon.
“It was important to be clear about going ahead together. There has been misunderstanding but now there is the desire to continue united.”
LFC Foundation Matches Ox’s Donation
The LFC Foundation, Liverpool’s official charity, has donated £50,000 to Zoe’s Place, which is a baby hospice that “provides 24-hour respite and palliative care for babies aged 0-5 years with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.”
It is a wonderful gesture, matching the same amount given by Oxlade-Chamberlain last week, with the midfielder visiting the hospice.
The money was raised by the Legends match that took place between Liverpool and AC Milan at Anfield last month, highlighting the vital contribution supporters can make.
